ASTEROID MEMORIA: The Many Concepts of Memory with horoscopes that honour Asteroid Memoria in context (with three Memoria yods.) by Hilary Jane Margret Bond PhD.
~ THE MEMORIES SONG ~
Light the corners of my mind
Misty watercolour memories
Of the way we were
Of the smiles we left behind
Smiles we gave to one another
For the way we were
Can it be that it was all so simple then?
Or has time re-written every line?
If we had the chance to do it all again
Tell me, would we?
May be beautiful and yet
What’s too painful to remember
We simply to choose to forget
So, it’s the laughter
We will remember
Whenever we remember
The way we were
The way we were
From the song “The Way We Were” sung by Barbra Streisand & Lionel Richie.
The asteroid Memoria 1247 was discovered on 30 August, 1932, by Marguerite Laugier at the Royal Astronomical Uccle Observatory, Belgium. Marguerite named this asteroid Memoria in memory of a “pleasant stay at the observatory.” But Memoria embodies so many phenomena, not just pleasant or jovial memories, but some manufactured by childhood horrors, some depressing, some horrifying, some false or habitually manufactured lies to enhance one’s narcissism. The list goes on and I discuss this memorable list in this article. So, let us go on a “Memoria” quest and visit all the “Memoria” places “Memoria” experiences and “Memoria” horoscopes.
I discuss an analyse two Memoria composite marriage horoscopes (one is Goldie Hawn’s)
and the astrological positions of Asteroid Memoria for:
- the Memoria Discovery horoscope,
- Ed Sheeran,
- H.G. Wells,
- Yehudi Menuhin,
- Tom Bower investigative journalist,
- Maya Angelou,

~ MEMORIES OF A 1950S-1960s MARRIAGE AND ITS REPERCUSSIONS ~
This glamourous, shining couple were married in a cathedral. Both their families were blessed with financial abundance and they were well known and loved in many circles. The two fathers were handsome, charming and loved far and wide. The circumstances of this 1950s wedding resembled a Hollywood film. The ceremony, the honeymoon and the love were euphoric and there were many photograph albums full of their happy memories for seven years.
However, after Faith had her third child the rot set in. The beautiful memories did not last. He became tired of her behaviour. They came from different backgrounds. They had different beliefs. She became depressed. She began to gossip with emotionally unstable people. He had affairs. After he cast her off, Faith’s mother relentlessly gossiped about him and his parents in order to destroy them as enemies. Faith’s many uncles did all they could to see the children and their father and they tried to silence Faith’s mother (unsuccessfully.) Faith held the fantasies and the grief of her wonderful original memories of him until the day she died. She always wished he would suddenly be nice to her again and when his second wife left, she wished that her unrequited love was just a fantasy and her Prince Charming would return.
She became an overly enmeshed mother and a mother who needed mothering. The aggression between this couple hurt the children of this union very badly, for he waged war against her and her parents in the form of custody cases and court cases of restraint. Both Faith, her mother and their father and stepmother resorted to attempts of brainwashing the children. For the two younger children the terrible memories were irreparable. The eldest child had seven years of happy memories. The courts ruled that she should be removed from the damaging effects of Faith’s vitriolic mother. From her early twenties she had years of healing and therapy and she became a healing guide for the daughters and sons of unions with ‘sad and terrible memories.’
How many marriages end up like this? How many children have memories of their parent’s battles, affairs, their abuse after the parents have divorced and the children are abused by stepparents? What are our memories?
When Faith met George because he had visited the city with his wealthy friend for a show where there were dances every night for ten days. He came into the city after a hard year of work on his father’s giant ranch. He wasn’t a red neck or a farmer. He was highly educated, sophisticated and brilliant. He wasn’t gullible and naive like Faith. He had been bought up by his brilliant, wealthy uncle and his aunt who was of the country’s wealthiest women, one of the most travelled and most highly acclaimed for her spiritual evolution, her brilliance and hands on philanthropy. Consequently, George was erudite spiritually, mentally, and psychologically. He was also, like Faith, privileged.
But Faith regardless of her private school education was not holistically educated. She was spoiled, naïve and she knew little about the real world. She went dancing every week with an engineer, who she should have married. He was solid, dependable, steady, wealthy but compared to George dull. Keith had proposed to Faith many times. But she told her daughter on her death bed that she should have married Keith even though she felt she did not feel passion for him. George swept her off her feet and she forgot Keith.
Faith’s father had been born in the country but his parents, although they were popular and salt of the earth were not landed gentry. Faith’s paternal grandparents separated and eventually went to live in the city. Faith’s mother was a popular, but secretly bitter women; financially rich, but spiritually poverty stricken. Faith’s maternal grandparents were wealthy. They both died young and tragically. Faith’s mother took on her ancestor’s burdens and beliefs. Faith an only child, was damaged by her control freak mother who sadistically dominated her daughter and brainwashed Faith into believing she could be a princess, marry a rich man and have servants. Faith’s mother’s enmeshment crippled Faith and her father all their lives. Faith made exquisite clothes for Faith. Faith hated her mother but depended on her financially. But Faith refused to learn to cook or sew even though her mother tried to teach her. She cut up her mother’s clothes and her mother’s sadistic punishment was unspeakable. One of the reasons she married a man who did not live in the city was to escape her mother.
Faith entered her marriage to George with these unrealistic, fairyland beliefs. George’s parents were hard working and popular. They were part of a giant community of ranches where families depended on one another in times of shearing their sheep, mustering their thousands of cattle; coping in time of floods, hurricanes and twisters. Such a community was one where the women worked as hard as the men, rode horses just as well and both men and men cooked and sewed. They could not afford to have lazy, gossiping spouses or people who felt they were entitled or looked down on the people who worked for the families. Noblese oblige was essential.
Faith did not understand any of these concepts. She was completely out of her depth where these people who had been wealthy and hard working for generations rarely married outsiders. They found Faith lazy and strange and only a few of the women tried to help her fit in. As a result, Faith made friends with the outsiders who were trouble makers and to the day she died she criticised George’s parents.
George rarely talked about Faith, except to try and make sure his children were safe. He worked hard until his death and loved his practical second wife and died young from overwork.
Faith had anxious, insecure attachment, but George had a secure childhood.
Now let’s analyse Faith and George’s composite horoscope.
HERE MEMORIA IS THE APEX OF ONE YOD AND PART OF ANOTHER YOD.
Here we have MEMORIA at 00 Virgo 39 minutes in the 9th house conjunct NEPTUNE & EURYDIKE. They are the apex of one yod and one of the legs of another yod. Thus, asteroid Memoria is vital in Faith and George’s horoscope.
Virgo should be adaptable, conscientious, health conscious and hardworking but although Faith was hard working as a teacher to her children she did not cook and George complained he had to cook for himself and was always visiting the district hospital with boils. Faith was consistently ill. Therefore, when we are looking at Virgo as the dominant sign in a yod we are analysing an archetype that may be unconscious or unaware in the people who inhabit the horoscope. George and his parents and grandparents saw work as an ethic in their family. In reality it was the family shadow and the person who was aware of this shadow were seen as lazy, degenerate, useless and a trouble maker who should be removed. The work ethic was part of those wealthy landed gentry families who had giant sheep and cattle ranches. While Faith’s mother and father worked, they did not do the type of work that the country people did and they had no need to work with nature and the seasons. George’s family loved nature, the rains, the flowers and the worked with the seasons and weather and respected them. Faith did not understand this earth (Gaia) based way of thinking. This composite horoscope also has a 00-degree Capricorn (hardworking, earth) ascendant which trined Memoria conjunct Neptune in the ninth house. The whole of George’s family had travelled the world and understood other cultures. Faith could not comprehend this. This is part of a yod where there are huge placements of unawareness and lack of communication, like a house with no doors or windows.
Neptune conjunct Memoria suggests the subject has illusions, confusion, unrequited love and emotional turmoil from constant memories. Faith’s eldest daughter told me that Faith blamed George for sending her to a mental asylum at age 23. That is untrue because from age 16 Faith’s mother sent Faith to a mental asylum continually. But Faith did remember the wildness of the (Neptunian) floods, tornadoes and windstorms and the monster sharks, crocodiles, snakes and huge fish when she travelled with a party of families on a three-week trip into places with no roads in the 1950s.
In the myth of Orpheus and his wife Eurydike, Eurydike looks back, like Lot’s wife and dies in Pluto’s world (becomes depressed as a result.) Symbolically this conjunction can indicate depression. Thus, Memoria conjunct Eurydike suggests that it causes death and depression in any relationship (Faith and George’s two yods)
One wonders though when we see a composite chart with Memoria as the apex of a yod whether the couple were soul mates because a few days after Faith died (George had been dead for 20 years) Faith’s daughter told me she had seen a shaman who told her that she saw George who yelled out with joy, “Faith’s back. She’s back!” Faith’s daughter sobbed as I held her.
LET US ANALYSE THE CONCEPT OF MEMORIES
Before we look at some more case studies and their accompanying horoscopes I would like to briefly discuss the concept of memory itself and differentiate between different trypes of memory and the reasons behind these memories. There we see:
- Memories and the limbic system in our brain;
- Memories that are trapped in our body;
- Nostalgia: A. memories to soothe; B. memories to reminicse and memories to remember when times were better;
- Memories to fantasise about;
- Writing memoirs; 1. are they true or false ; 2. what do the authors leave out; 3. the type of person who writes vitriolic memoirs or airs their vitriol on an American television program and sues if anyone dares criticise their memories;
- The concept of false memories;
- Twisting memory by brainwashing toture, or constant verbal abuse;
- The effect of yoga, tai chi, qi gong, emeditation and yogic breathing on memory;
- The effect of memories on our body.
- The concept of early childhood conditioning or animal imprinting;
- The difference between the asteroid godess Mnemosyne and asteroid Memoria and goddesses of memory from other cultures.
- False memories can also been gained by empaths, because they are osmotic.
MEMORY. 1. Nostalgia changes the brain.
Apparently nostalgia is one of the 27 core emotions that human beings experience. Nostalgia is a contemplative, reflective feeling we get when we remember happy times. It can be triggered by a song that brings you back to a specific time in your life, or a smell that reminds you of holidays when you were a child, a taste of a food you ate in happy times, or even a feeling you had when you fell in love with your first baby or pet. Nostalic memory depends on “chronological remoteness,” and “emotional and personal significance.” Nostalgia is the only feeling that connects memory and emotion in the brain. It triggers the part of the brain that gives us ‘rewards’ and makes us feel positive, reduces anxiety and make us more optimistic our future. It makes us feel less lonely; physically warmer and more euphoric or right brained. It can be used to break addiction patterns and reduce physical pain! It’s bizarre, but recalling happy memories from the past can improve our ability to cope with pain. Nostalgia helps us experience self-continuity is a sense of connection with your past, present, and future self. In other words when looking at a photograph of you as a teenager you remember what it felt like to be you at that time, thus more self-continuity you feel from nostalgic memories, the happier you are. Because nostalgia helps us remember our roots, and nostalgic people tend to reflect more on their lives. Nostalgic people are said to show more creativity in their writing than others and we nostalgic people have a sense of warmth and belonging that makes it easier to open up and take risks or pursue new ideas.
MEMORY 2. Memory Distortion
Taylor Bennett in her aricle, ‘Memory distortion is real: Here’s why your brain creates false memories’ in Counselling News, Memory and Mental Health on June 24, 2019, states people rarely second guess the authenticity of our memory, but the fact is that our minds do sometimes deceive us by creating false memories which are called “illusory correlation.” Here the mind incorrectly creates a relationship between two events. Taylor maintains that there are many forms of memory distortion are change bias, cryptomnesia, and egocentric bias, all of which can present themselves as actual memories. She suggests that we support your memory by journaling about your life, considering your biases, and giving yourself a chance to process the pleasant and unpleasant events.
- Taylor talks about change bias which is a phenomenon in which we remember a process being more challenging than it actually was; it’s brought on by the stress that comes with working toward a change or desired outcome through our own efforts.
- Taylor tells us that cryptomnesia, another memory distortion, occurs when our mind forgets when and where it learned something. Consequently, when we recall this memory later, we believe we solely created the information. Taylor suggested that we might read something and then copy it later, without realizing the words aren’t ours.
- Taylor’s next account of memory distorion is egocentric bias is when we recall our accomplishments as being more impressive than they really were. For example a friend asked, “Remember, when you went running the other day; how fast did you run?” You nodded. The friend asked, “Did you just exagerate?” You looked embarrassed and you admited that you reported running a little faster or farther than you actually did.
- Illusory correlation is the occurrence that many of the participants experienced in the previous study. Here our mind incorrectly creates a relationship between two events. In this case, the participants recalled the memory of seeing the plane crash footage because they were told it actually happened.
How Do False Memories Form?
Elizabeth Loftus, a researcher of memory functions, has provided very convincing insights into how false memories form and become mentally cemented. She claims that many false memories begin through suggestion. She explains her research in her book Memory: Surprising New Insights into How We Remember and Why We Forget.
False memory syndrome (FMS) is a worst-case scenario. Though it is not yet classified as a diagnosable mental disorder, it explains individuals who center their personalities around factually incorrect memories. The danger is that we become so fixated on the memory being true that we actively avoid any evidence or logic that would disprove it. This condition is extremely problematic, especially when observed in cases like sexual abuse. Still, more information and documented evidence is needed before FMS can become a fully-realized and recognized mental disorder.
MEMORY. 3. Brainwashing
The term “brainwashing” was first used in English by Edward Hunter in 1950 to describe how the Chinese government appeared to make people cooperate with them. Other euphemistic terms for bainwashing are mind control, coercive persuasion, or re-education and these are based on the belief that our mentality can be changed by some psychological techniques which reduce our capability to think for ourself. Significant cases have analysed the behaviour of soldiers in Nazi Germany, the behaviour of human traffickers, cult gurus, satanic ritual abuse, torture by criminals, and parents of abused children. A so called brainwshing case was the 1970s case of Patty Hearst, a member of the wealthy Hearst family, who was kidnapped by a left-wing militant organization. Hearst was found guilty. Even though some psychologists argue that brainwashing causes “dissociative identity disorder” the legal and psychiatric world refuse to recognise this.
MEMORY 4. Memory and the limbic system
Largely, the limbic system comprises the following brain structures: Long-term memory is a type of memory that is encoded in the brain for years. It can be divided into two major groups: Explicit or declarative memory refers to the memories that are consciously recalled as episodes of life. Paul D. MacLean, as part of his triune brain theory, hypothesized that the limbic system is older than other parts of the forebrain, and that it developed to manage circuitry attributed to the fight or flight first identified by Hans Selye in his report of the General Adaptation Syndrome in 1936.
ROOT CHAKRA & MEMORY
The wonderful and nasty memories we have from our childhood foods which correspond to our root chakra and our spiritual belief in the goodness of life
HOW YOGA SUPPORTS BRAIN HEALTH by Angela Wilson.
In 2005, Sara Lazar and her team of researchers completed a study on meditation and cortical thickness (a marker of brain aging), which showed that long-term meditation practitioners had less cortical thinning. But does yoga have the same effect? Researchers at Duke University conducted a study similar to Lazar’s, in which they compared long-term yoga practitioners, those who practiced for at least 45 minutes at a time, three to four times a week, for at least three years, and compared them to matched controls. The yogis showed greater grey matter volume in a number of different parts of the brain, including parts of the prefrontal cortex and the limbic system, areas related to stress and emotion regulation. Yoga seemed to protect the brain from the normal wear and tear of getting older.
Some research studies have shown that yoga may buffer against atrophy in the hippocampus, a part of the brain related to memory, emotion-regulation, and information processing. A small structure housed in the limbic system (the emotion centre of the brain), the hippocampus is essential to our overall mood and experience of the world. People with major depression and PTSD, for example, have smaller hippocampi volume than people without these conditions. Scientists believe that this part of the brain can be shrunk by stress and hypothesize that those with smaller hippocampal volume may be at increased risk of developing PTSD. Another study found that long-term yoga practitioners also benefited from decreased cortical thinning in parts of the prefrontal cortex (PFC), an area of the brain related to emotional control, decision making, and impulse control.
MEMOSYNE, MENG PO, MEMORIA, REQUIEM, KARMA, NEMESIS, ERYNIA
Meng Po is a Chinese goddess who looks like a benign woman. It is her job to make sure that souls about to be reincarnated do not recall their previous time on earth. She creates an herbal tea of forgetfulness, which is given to each soul before they return to the mortal realm.
Memoria is not a goddess; she simply is an asteroid who was named to remind the astronomer who named her about a pleasant memory.
Mnemosyne, in ancient Greek mythology, personifies memory, which is the root of all life and creativity. Mnemosyne apparently knows the past, present and future of all beings. When people died in ancient Greece they were taken to Lethe, the river of death in Greek mythology, which destroyed all their memories). In Indigenous peoples she symbolises oral memories such as sacred Druidic poetry or sacred songs passed down by word to those who are deserving of gaining such sacred knowledge.
THE MEMORIA HOROSCOPE
Memoria was discovered in 1932; the 30th of August in Uccle, Belgium by a female astronomer; Marguerite Laugier. She named this asteroid Memoria after her pleasant memories at the observatory.
THE DISCOVERY CHART
In the chart Memoria is at 23 degrees 40 minutes in Libra the sign of partnership, balance and need for beauty.
In the horoscope there is both a Memoria and a Cancer stellium. Therefore, the song The Way We Were which nostalgically remembers the misty images of a love affair is apt.
The Memoria horoscope is made up of three stelliums:
one in Cancer,
one in Leo and
one in Leo.
Except for these three stelliums with eight planets and numerous asteroids in them only Uranus in Aries and Saturn in Capricorn. We can’t call it a fan chart.
In the Memoria horoscope there is a large solar stellium, with
- JUPITER at 4 degrees Virgo conjunct
- SUN 6 degrees Virgo conjunct
- NEPTUNE 7 degrees Virgo conjunct
- JUNO 15 degrees Virgo 46 minutes conjunct
- SOUTH NODE 17 degrees Virgo
- This all suggests an intense, possibly obsessive, a hardworking, spiritual or imaginative person who has a business and technological bent. They may like cameras and photography and the sea. This stellium in Virgo suggests a great deal of compassion, good fortune, enthusiasm and optimism along with a hard-working side.
There also is a lunar Memoria stellium with
- the MOON at 13 degrees Leo conjunct;
- OPHELIA at 12 degrees conjunct;
- NIOBE 14 Leo conjunct
- APHIDAS 13 Leo conjunct,
- ORPHEUS 18 degrees Leo conjunct;
- MERCURY 19 degrees Leo
- This stellium is a different kettle of fish with emotionally dramatic, but positive, romantic behaviour Moon. However, this stellium suggests an archetype of looking back, having too much self-importance, aa tendency to be easily upset and feeling overwhelmed easily.
There is a Mars- Venus-Memoria stellium with
- Apollo 13 Cancer
- APOPHIS 14 Cancer
- MARS 16 degrees Cancer 28 minutes conjunct
- CASTALIA 19 degrees Cancer 57 conjunct
- VENUS 20 degrees Cancer conjunct
- PLUTO 22 degrees Cancer
Again, this stellium suggests a different archetype. Venus in Cancer is sensitive and easily hurt and Marrs in Cancer is temperamental. Add Pluto to this you have a volatile and obsessive person, who could be evil or one who has been near catastrophes (Apophis), but could see their life as divinely inspired (Castalia). With Apollo added they may see themselves as a prophet and a healer. Wow.
FAMOUS PEOPLE WHO HAVE PROMINENT ASTEROID MEMORIAS IN THEIR CHARTS
ALBERT EINSTEIN, probably the most amazing scientist ever known (for his Theory of Relativity [e= mc squared]),had his Memoria in Cancer at 9 degrees 53 minutes. Cancer is renowned for memories. Einstein had his Memoria sextile Neptune in Taurus conjunct Tantalus and Diana suggesting his thirst for limitless and Nature- based possibilities in a practical way. His Vesta at 9 degrees Cancer conjuncted his Memoria and this tells us his hearth fire or core was his Memory and as Cancer to me embodies the Great Mother, Einstein’s memories are limitless and embody all his incarnations. With Icarus in Aquarius and Altjira both quincunxing his Memoria it seems he was not afraid to visit the Divine to search for answers. And with Admetos in Pisces trining his Memoria the gods and demi-gods were his friends and would always help him. With Quaoar also conjunct his Memoria I consulted Alex Miller who suggests that, astrologically, Quaoar ( an Indigenous deity like Arente Aboriginal deity Aljira) is creativity personified; access to our internal connection with the divine. God bless wonderful Einstein.
MAYA ANGELOU, a wonderful African-American women who wrote her memoirs as a book called, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings had her Memoria at 21 degrees Taurus square her Ascendant in Leo at 23 degrees Leo and trine her Hygeia. Clearly her Memories gave her holistic good health and well-being and her square to her Ascendant meant that her mask or the persona that people saw when they first met Maya was not what her memories constituted.
Dr EDWARD BACH, physician and inventor of Bach Flower Remedies had his Memoria at 7 degrees Scorpio sextile Mnemosyne and quincunx his North Node in Gemini and quincunx his Kronos in Aries; square his Leo Moon. Here Memoria is the apex of a yod which quincunxes both Kronos and North Node. This suggests his memories are giant but not part of his future. His Memoria sextile Memoria symbolises that he may have bought past life memories into his Bach Flower incarnation. His Memoria-Moon suggests his vibrant emotional self is in contrast to his intense memories.
FRANK McCourt, the Irish author who wrote Angela’s Ashes, a memoir of his life, had Memoria at 22 Virgo conjunct his Mercury, and square his Moon conjunct Mars in Gemini. He also has asteroid Sphinx sextiling his Memoria and Aphrodite and Rhadamanthus trining his Memoria. Sphinx-Memoria signified inscrutable memories and Aphrodite-Memoria meant memories of love affairs. Memoria-Rhadamanthus suggested honesty in his memories even though his mother screamed that what Frank wrote wasn’t true. Memoria-Mercury clearly states that his memories aren’t just emotional, they are based on fact. But the fact that Frank also has his Memoria square his Moon conjunct Mars suggests some traumatic memories of angry or dangerous events.
TED HUGHES, a famous British poet, had his Memoria at 21degrees Virgo conjunct asteroid Vesta and Iris, at 22 Gemini, sextile asteroid Hecate, sextile asteroid Terpsichore, trine his asteroids Aphrodite and Industria and square his Mars. He obsessively worried about his memories, which was not surprising as both his famous wife, Sylvia Plath and his son, both committed suicides. Dark star Astrology states that Iris like Mercury, Iris bridges two worlds, carries the Caduceus, and connects to the underworld. That seems so for Ted because whatever he did women blamed him for Sylvia’s death and her memory plunged him into a nightmare world. Yet his Memoria conjunct Vesta suggests that his good memories were his hearth-fire, his core: the centre of his world, but square to his Mars they zapped his energy. His Memoria trine Aphrodite and Industria and sextile to Terpsichore symbolised his memories of his affairs and love for women where he danced through life and worked hard on his poetry. His sextile to Hekate suggests his connection to Nature and his wisdom.
MAYA ANGELOU, a lady of African-American heritage wrote her memoirs in a book called Why the Caged Bird Sings. Her Memoria is at 21 degrees Taurus and its trines her Hygeia at 21 degrees Capricorn, her Mars at 20 degrees Pisces and 21 Venus Pisces. Her Memoria-Hygeia signifies her earthy wellbeing; her Memoria-Mars tells us of her courage and her Memoria embodies her never-ending love.
TOM BOWER, a British investigative journalist of enormous calibre, with a background as a lawyer, has his Memoria at 9 degrees 24 minutes in the sign of Virgo. He researches meticulously, listening to people’s memories and hisown field research. With Nessus at 9 Taurus trining his Memoria he is the “pit bull terrier” type of journalist who leaves no stone unturned in exposing the mendacious character of his subjects, and their swindling and deceit. With Apophis at 9 degrees Scorpio sextile his Memoria Tom unearths destructive and unforgivable acts and cruelty in his subjects. He has written biographies about Robert Maxwell, Prince Charles and Mohamed Al-Fayed and is now writing about a woman for the first time. Tom is the son of Jewish refugees, who escaped from Europe before the holocaust.
QUEEN ELIZABETH II has her Memoria at 20 degrees 54 minutes of Capricorn which indicates her memories from her parents of being practical and hardworking. For the American people who read this and her critics, she is, nevertheless a remarkable woman with many Memoria geometric aspects and therefore worthy of a Memoria post. Her asteroid Magdalena is at 19 degrees 58 minutes of Pieces. Her Memoria opposes Typhon 21 Pisces and trines Ixion 20 Virgo. In his brilliant article on Ixion Benjamin Adamah: “Ixion in Astrology – underlining the intrinsic Plutonic faculty of processing itself”, maintains that those with an Ixion archetype must gain an “awareness of good and evil; the confrontation with emerging ethical problems, often linked to technology, social issues, artistic projects, politics or literature; the construction of bad karma and inventions with a flip side.” All of these issues have emerged since Elizabeth became Queen in the 1950s and she has kept up with these issues including her appearances on Zoom. Benjamin continues that the “core of Ixion must remain unattached to ties, connections [and] results” and here we see Queen Elizabeth’s treatment of the Duchess of Winsor when her husband died, the ousting of Prince Andrew, the sensible handling of her grandson Harry and her general political impartiality. Typhon mythologically indicates storms, earthquakes and earth driven disasters and archetypally Typhon symbolises “an annus horribilus”. With all her children, except Andrew Queen Elizabeth has had to bear the public backlash of their divorces and now Harry seems to be a problem worse than Andrew. Both have loose lips that sink ships. She has also had to cope with her sister’s early death, the death of her beloved husband’s death and the burning of Windsor Castle. The metaphorical typhoons do not seem to stop and the media delights in them. Her Cupido is at 19 degrees Leo 56 minutes quincunxing her Memoria indicates her partnership with the houses of commons and lords and the various commonwealth departments as well as with her subjects as she is the most popular royal. Her Cupido-Memoria aspect also indicates her unequal relationship, long marriage and love for her husband who she has described as her rock. The Queen also has her Memoria conjunct her Ascendant and South Node, as well as her Magdalena sextile her Memoria. Last but not least the Queen has Burney conjunct her Memoria, South Node and Ascendant. Burney is the name of the asteroid that was named by Venetia Burney the little girl who named the new planet Pluto discovered by Percival Lovell. What, may you ask, is so important about Burney? Venetia named Pluto after Pluto the canine cartoon character who was Mickey Mouse’s best friend. Mickey was a clown. The Queen loves to clown around and she has an uncanny ability to mimic anyone and anything, so although she is a Queen, she always sees the funny side of everything and this is probably why she seems to tolerate such much that others would totally lose their cool over.
ED SHEERAN is an English singer, songwriter, record producer, musician, actor, and businessman. Sheeran has sold more than 150 million records worldwide, making him one of the world’s best-selling music artists. He is also a truly delightful and nostalgic person. He was influenced by Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, Elton John, Van Morrison, Eric Clapton, The Beatles, Nizlopi, Taylor Swift and Eminem. His Memoria at 26 degrees Leo tells us about bright, shining, magnetic people, times and events and children, even his own childhood. His Memoria conjuncts his Logos in Leo which speaks of the words of his songs, Selene in Leo (abundance and fruitfulness), his Eurydike in Leo which suggest not looking back. His nostalgic songs are Bad Habits, Beautiful People, I don’t Care, South of the Border and Afterglow. His Memoria opposes his Sun in Aquarius which suggest that part of him is modern and technological and the other side a bundle of fun. North Node in Capricorn is also quincunx Ed’s indicating his practical public side which because Ed is so wise incorporates his delightful Memoria in Leo fun showman side. With his Hidalgo in Aries opposing his Memoria Ed donates money from his concerts, his clothes to charity and he encourages other stars to help him raise money for needy people and hospitals.
H.G. WELLS the famous writer who wrote The Time Machine (1895), which was his first novel, The Island of Doctor Moreau (1896), The Invisible Man (1897), The War of the Worlds (1898), also anticipated the arrival of aircraft, tanks, space travel, nuclear weapons, satellite television and the World Wide Web. He had Memoria at 2 degrees Gemini, the sign of the thinker, with asteroid Child at 2 Pisces, South Node in Aries, Klio the asteroid of story tellers at 2 degrees Leo; Hades at 2 degrees Aquarius, Mnemosyne at 2 degrees Gemini and Ceres at 1 degree Libra. Let’s start with his Memoria’s relationship (square) to Child at 2 Pisces. When he was 8 years old he had an accident in 1874 that left him bedridden with a broken leg. His father, a “freethinker” bought him books from the local library and he immersed himself in other worlds and other lives. The also stimulated his desire to write. His mother at that time became a housekeeper at a great house where H.G. Wells could read a variety of classical literature. Now we move to the relationship between Memoria and Ceres (Libra) where embodies cycles of transformative growth return, attachment in relationships, and self-nurturing. With Pluto conjunct his Hygeia in the 2nd house as well as his Ceres trine Memoria, we see Wells studying at the Normal School of Science in London, studying biology under Thomas Henry Huxley. His scholarship was 21 shillings (a guinea) which should have been a lot of money and yet his autobiography suggests he was always hungry and thin. His Hades trining his Memoria tell us about memories of weighty emotional issues which no doubt were the many woman in his life and the children they produced. The titan Mnemosyne, mother of the nine muses does create our memories, our creativity, our flashes of insight, storytelling, foreseeing, envisaging, and I believe our past life memories and interdimensional memories. In HG Wells case he certainly was a prodigy with his Memoria and Mnemosyne conjunct he must have been a type of literary Mozart who had been Ovid or Euripides in another lifetime.
YEHUDI MENUHIN had his Memoria at 12 degrees Aries 55 minutes. He had Aphrodite 12 Cancer square Memoria, which suggests his never-ending challenge for love and his life in the arts. His Cyllarus was placed at 12 Virgo quincunxing his Memoria. Cyllarus was a beautiful centaur, but he foolishly became involved in the battle with the Lapiths and was killed. He also was part of an enmeshed and co-dependent relationship with his wife Hylonome who committed suicide when Cyllarus died. This memory seems to embody his second wife who gave up her career to help Menuhin’s career, even though she wished she had not done so. Cyllarus and Hylonome symbolise physical beautiful but psychological instability and this seems to describe his second wife, Diana Gould, was a ballet dancer, who was described by Anna Pavlova as the only English dancer she’d seen who “had a soul”, and by Arnold Haskell as “the most musical dancer the English have yet produced” (Sydney Morning Herald, February 6, 2003.) The Sydney Morning Herald also wrote Diana’s words in an autobiography; “If one performing artist marries another,” she wrote in her autobiography, Fiddler’s Moll, in 1984, “it is obvious that one of the two must dissolve his or her persona in the other”. His Eurydike at 11 Cancer squared his Memoria. Perhaps this aspect embodied his need to stay in the present and not agonise over his life. His Panacea sextiled his Memoria and he was health conscious, having two hearing aids and eating organic food. His Sila-Nunam conjuncted his Memoria. Sila is the Inuit deity of the sky, weather, and life force who breathed life into humans. Nunam is his female counterpart, an Earth divinity who created the land animals. Together they created mankind. Astrologically they indicate joyful partnership, fertility and abundance. We can see Yehudi Menuhin’s great love of and gratefulness for his amazing life in his Memoria- Sila Nunam conjunction. Again, this seems to indicate Menuhin and his wife’s partnership. We can see how adjectival asteroids can be.
GOLDIE HAWN & KURT RUSSELL
~ A 35-year relationship full of happy memories ~
They are one of the most famous, archetypally in love and long-lasting couples in Hollywood. She is in her mid-seventies and he is 69. This famous souple have been together for over 35 years on non – marriage and loving commitment to each other and their family.
They in 1966 while filming, The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band, but she thought that at only 16 he was much too young for her. It wasn’t until 1983 that they acted together on the film of Swing Shift. They made love the first night and it’s been “and they lived happily ever after.”
In 2017, Hawn told The Late Late Show With James Corden that she and Russell had recently watched Overboard. “You know how sometimes you forget why you fell in love? I remembered everything, and why I fell in love. And it was really something to be able to watch that.”
She said Russell praised her performance in the film as they watched. “He said, ‘Honey, that was so great, you did that so good…’ It was just a shared love of each other and it was a turn-on, actually.” Over the years, the couple kept starring in movies, with Hawn’s hits including The First Wives Club and Russell’s including Backdraft. They supported Oliver and Kate’s acting careers, and in 2002, moved to Vancouver to support Wyatt’s ice hockey career.
“Any father would be blessed to be gifted with the lifetime you have brought me. Goldie, to you, I owe my wonderful life. Simply put, Goldie, I cherish you.”
THEIR MEMORIA CONFIGERATIONS
MEMORIA SITS AT 27 DEGREES SAGITTARIUS. It exactly conjuncts Salacia and Nemesis
- Ascelepius 28 degrees Leo conjunct Sphinx 28 Leo
- Atlantis 26 Aries conjunct Hades 27 Aries conjunct Mnemosyne 28 Aries conjunct Amycus 26 Aries
THIS FIRE GRAND TRINE reveals great passion and energy in this relationship. There is no stress and tension, much inspiration, harmony, idealism, sharing of pleasures and the grand trine can be compared to the ease sliding down a water slide. In the grand trine Goldie and Kurt enjoy happy sexual memories and an appetite for fun sex (Salacia) and deservedness (Nemesis) for the love they share with their family, inspiration for lovers and the world at large.
The Ascelepius in Leo part of the Grand trine suggests, according astrologer, Alex Miller, healing of some kind, whether it be cures, for physical or mental ills, or an attraction to homeopathic or alternate healing methods. It seems the energy of Kurt Russell and Goldie as a couple are a healing force for everyone around them.
Now let’s look at their grand square. A square always indicates challenges as well as accomplishments and dynamic action which can be seen as stepping stones on your quest and building blocks for your psychological house. Café Astrology tells us that a “Grand Square is the most intense quadrangular configuration. It encloses the person in a framework of severe constraints, which are perceived as pressing.” Kurt Russell admits that their relationship is not perfect. They both have previous marriage and they both have children from other marriages, but here we have a mutable grand square which suggests that the couple are flexible in their relationship.
The Memoria-Salacia-Nemesis stellium is in a GRAND SQUARE with
- The Ascendant in Virgo conjunct Alexandra 29 Virgo
- Chaos 26 degrees Pisces & Arete 27 Pisces
- Erynia 27 Gemini conjunct Uranus 28 Gemini conjunct Midheaven 28 degrees Gemini
Asteroid Alexandra (54) was named for German explorer, traveller polymath, explorer, naturalist, and exponent of Romanticism, Alexander von Humbolt, who was one of the first scientists who discussed human caused climate change. The name Alexandra comes from an old rhyme: “A sea king’s daughter are thee, but all the Normans, Saxons and Danes welcome thee.” So we have here open-minded, loving, non-stereotyping people who love nature, and have an awe of God’s wonders (which is the true meaning of Romanticism.) The Virgo ascendant embodies a persona of humanity, practicality and industriousness. This is one angle.
The next angle, in spiritual Pieces, is Arete which means virtue across the board, so we see a delightful couple who embody archetypal astrological, Chaos which spiritually represents the infinite possibilities of the void or Bardo. Shamanic healers know the void because it is where life came from.
And the last ninetydegree angle of this grand square in Gemini embodies the MC, Erynia and Uranus. Gemini symbolises versatility and curiosity; the twins. Uranus in Gemini is innovative and quick to grab new ideas. Along with the forgiving, compassionate nature of Erynia their public image is clever and somewhat rebellious about the norms of society.
I love asteroid Memoria with its many permutations and combinations. Always remember that we have a brain and nervous system with infinite neuroplasticity. Louis Hays and numerous flexible medicos tell us that we can cure mental and physical disease by changing our thoughts. Thus if you are prone to bleak memories, you can begin new memories right this second and as an energy healer-medicine women who is a tool for the divine to heal people have neuroses I practice soul retrieval. This means that your memories get stuck in the bleakness of trauma.
You can also do yoga, meditation and correct breathing. You can practice cognitive-behavioural self-therapy and do thought stopping to change your stinking thinking.
You can change your memories in 3 to 6 months and forget the pain of the past and be like Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell.
I wish you all the love in the world. I see infinite possibilities in my life. I hope you can too.
With love and blessings and happy memories to you from,
